What is Gynecomastia?

Gynecomastia (often abbreviated to just ‘gyno’) is the development of excess breast gland tissue in men. Although there are a variety of contributing factors, it often is a result of hormonal imbalance. This imbalance is generally due to an excess of estrogen, a lack of testosterone, or a combination of both.

While excess breast gland tissue is usually the main culprit of gynecomastia, it is quite common for prospective patients to have excess adipose (fatty) tissue as well. In these instances, a successful gynecomastia surgery will entail removing the excess gland tissue (with an excision) and the excess fatty tissue (using liposuction).

Gynecomastia surgery can be a transformative journey, offering both physical and emotional benefits. By sculpting a more contoured chest, the procedure helps you regain confidence in your appearance. Beyond the physical changes, it can uplift your mood, allowing you to embrace life with renewed self-assurance and a positive body image. Our team is here to support you every step of the way on your path to feeling comfortable and confident in your own skin.

Types of Gynecomastia

Gyno Consultation

At the New Jersey Gynecomastia Center, you can expect a warm welcome from our dedicated staff, ensuring your comfort and confidentiality. Our experienced gynecomastia surgeons will conduct a thorough evaluation during your free in-person or virtual consultation. This includes discussing your medical history, concerns, and desired outcomes.

Surgery & Recovery

When it comes to surgery day and post-surgery, there are several important aspects to consider. Our doctors will explain all of this and more during the initial consultations.

What to Expect During Surgery

  • At the New Jersey Gynecomastia Center, the male breast reduction surgery is a meticulous process tailored to each patient’s needs. The procedure begins with the administration of anesthesia to ensure comfort. Depending on the patient’s condition, the surgeon will employ either gland excision, liposuction, or a combination of both.
  • Gland excision involves the direct removal of excess glandular tissue through discreet incisions strategically placed to minimize scarring. On the other hand, liposuction targets excess fat deposits, particularly effective for patients with pseudogynecomastia or excess fatty tissue.
  • Throughout the procedure, the surgical team maintains a focus on precision and finesse, ensuring optimal results while prioritizing patient safety and comfort. With advanced techniques and personalized care, patients can expect a smoother, more contoured chest following gynecomastia surgery at our NJ center.

Gyno Surgery Recovery

  • Following surgery, you’ll be monitored closely before being discharged with specific instructions for recovery.
  • Expect some discomfort and swelling initially, which can be managed with prescribed medications. It’s essential to wear a compression garment as directed to support healing and minimize swelling.
  • Most patients can resume light activities within a few days but should avoid strenuous exercise for several weeks. Regular follow-up appointments will monitor progress and ensure optimal results.
  • With proper care and adherence to post-operative instructions, you can expect a smoother, more confident chest contour as you recover.

NJ Gynecomastia Cost

There are many different variables when it comes to the cost of gynecomastia surgery in New Jersey. Such expenses include anesthesia fees, facility charges, pre and post-surgery evaluations, and the surgery itself. At the end of the day though, it all comes down to an individual’s personalized procedure.

Liposuction only

$

When male breasts are solely caused by an excess of breast fat tissue, then a simpler liposuction surgery can be performed.

Stage 1-2 gyno

$$

When dealing with gynecomastia due to excess breast gland tissue, a more complex surgery will be required involving excision of the gland.

Stage 3-4 gyno

$$$

Here you will be dealing with a more in-depth procedure that will also most likely remove any excess skin around the breast.
